Environmental, Health & Safety ManagerThe Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is the strategic architect and operational champion of Weld-On's safety and environmental performance in Hartsville, TN. The EHS Manager will develop and implement Environmental, Health & Safety programs, procedures, associated training, and guidance documents for North America. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, healthy, and safety regulations. This role requires a leader who can think several steps ahead - anticipating regulatory changes, identifying emerging risks, and shaping proactive strategies - while also being deeply engaged in day-to-day operations. This person will influence leaders at all levels, embed safety into operational decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport achievement and implementation of OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements.Lead incident/injury investigations and implementation of corrective actions.Educate and train project team members in safety requirements, best practices in incident preventions.Perform health and safety inspections, assessments, and audits.Coordinate, review, and monitor non-routine work activities that have the potential to adversely impact operations, the environment, or health & safety.Develops project plans and timelines based on strategic EHS goals and objectives.Partner with departments to recognize hazards and prevent injuries.Conduct training including but not limited to new hire orientation, compliance, forklift, scissor lift, LOTO, Machine guarding, chemical hygiene, etc.Administer EH&S programs driving participation, data entry, evaluation, and reporting.Maintain required records for safety training, safety inspections, and other EHS tasks.Answer questions and assist associates, supervisors, and contractors on EHS related matters.Manage safety shoe and prescriptive eyewear programs.Coordinate hazardous waste shipments.Disposal of hazardous waste in appropriate waste container and transport to central accumulation area.Other duties as assigned.Critical CompetenciesChange Management: A combination of mental flexibility, creativity, conceptual ability and judgment. A highly motivated team player who contributes to an atmosphere in which people work together, enthusiastically and effectively, in producing outstanding results.Results driven: An energetic, resourceful and hands on individual with a strong service orientation, someone who commits herself/himself fully to the job and who is dedicated to developing and delivering outstanding work – consistently revisits, rethinks and proactively explores opportunities to improve the Human Resources function, and its support of the organization's mission and objectives.Managerial Courage: Willing to say what needs to be said, take a tough stand, and give candid / frank feedback when necessary.Strong Organizational Agility: Must be comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment and influencing without authority.Leadership: Self-starter who leads by example; effective in working with, and through others.Education and Experience Requirements6- 8 years of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience and/or chemical safety in a manufacturing/industrial environment.Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, or Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.Knowledge of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.Experience conducting incident evaluations to identify root cause and corrective actions.Two years of general industry safety experience strongly preferred.OSHA 30 General Industry strongly preferred.Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.Comfortable speaking in front of groups.Continuous improvement approach to processes.Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift and move items or boxes up to 30lbs.Reasonable accommodations may be extended to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
